• Educational Qualification : Candidates applying for the post of Professor should have MD (Psychiatry) from Recognised University/ Institution. For the post of Associate Professor MD (Psychiatry)/ PhD/ M. Phil (Clinical Psychology/ Psychiatry Social Work)/ PhD/ M.Sc. (Psychiatry Nursing) from a recognized university. 
• For the post of Assistant Professor PhD/ M. Phil (Psychiatry Social Work) from Recognised University. For the post of Psychiatry Social Worker PhD/ M. Phil (Psychiatry Social Work) from a Recognised University/ Teaching Institution.    
• Age Limit :The upper age should be below 35 years for Psychiatry Social Worker post and below 50 years for all the other posts as on 01-01-2012.
• Age Relaxation :The upper age is relaxable for the reserved candidates as per the rules.
